Griffith is the beautiful newborn baby boy we first ‘met’ at his mama’s maternity session. I loved visiting with his parents and enjoying their southern accents, so I was really looking forward to meeting him. He was a doll for his session, and I had so much fun working with him. His parents both wanted to be a part of the newborn session, so we started with pictures of the two of them with Griffith and then some of each of them alone with him. As always, I love when parents are in the pictures!
That expression and those open eyes just make me smile!
As a bonus, his grandparents were visiting, so I got an extra dose of southern charm. He is one well-loved little boy, that’s for sure. After his grandma looked over my hat selection, she requested the striped stocking cap, and I have to agree with her- it’s great on him.
making your newborn session unique
I especially love incorporating items that are special to families in a newborn session. It makes it so much more personal and unique to your baby if some of your heritage is included. In the bear image below, the bear was made out of scraps from the clothing of all of the men in the family. I love that idea. The hat was knit for him by a very good friend. The bunny quilt and pillow belonged to mom when she was a baby, and it’s being passed down to him. I love seeing how tiny he is here- it would be interesting to do another image on the quilt in a year to see how much he’s grown since he was a newborn!
T. family, thank you for the opportunity to take Griffith’s newborn photographs- it was such a pleasure to work with your family to capture these memories!
