As a maternity photographer, I love helping expectant moms and dads capture the anticipation they have for their new baby as well as the beauty of pregnancy. It’s even better when I know I’m going to be back to see that little baby in a few months. This gorgeous mom-to-be is expecting a baby boy in just a few weeks, and looks stunning. We met at her Kalamazoo home when she was 38 weeks pregnant, and had so much fun with a variety of outfits and settings. Listening to her Tennessee accent was also a pleasure!

Nursery maternity photographer

We got to use the nursery they’ve decorated in greens and blues with the cutest alligator accents. I love the letters spelling his name already in place over the crib. Their pets wanted to get in on the action, too, so we made them a part of the session. The cat has already spent many hours in the rocker in L.’s lap, so of course we had to document that! Between the two big dogs and the cat, I’m sure Griffin will be getting a warm welcome  : ).

As a maternity photographer, I love getting this ‘behind the scenes’ look into the preparation for the baby. It’s fun to see all the big and little ways things are being set up and changing to prepare for the big life changes that are coming. To me, it shows how much this little one is loved before he’s even here. I can’t wait to capture the love his parents have for him at his newborn session. I’m already looking forward to meeting him! You know you’ll be seeing the newborn pictures soon!
