Outdoor newborn pictures aren’t always a possibility in our changeable Michigan weather, but it was a warm spring day when we did her session. So, I was thrilled when Laurelle’s mom mentioned wanting to take her outside for a few images. Laurelle’s name is a variation of ‘laurel’, and her springtime yard was full of blooming crab apple and magnolia trees. A match made in heaven! Her vintage country house is decorated with antiques (so pretty!), so we put her in the vintage baby stroller under the trees. She snuggled in with the soft breezes blowing over her, and I love the results:
In addition to outdoor newborn pictures, we got a variety of her indoors, too. She was a dream baby, and slept through a variety of baskets and hats. We brought some of the outdoors in and used the flowers from her yard, combined with some antique props her mom had on hand. My favorite was this vintage baby scale:
I just couldn’t get over how long her eyelashes were, either- she’s such a beautiful girl!
next, the simple images, always a favorite of mine. I love the baby to be the star of the show, and sometimes a simple headband, hat or wrap is all you need to add a special touch.
she spent a bit of the time awake, and I just love the quiet, intense gaze we caught here. A few detail shots of tiny hands and feet are always fun to have, too-
a mix of outdoor newborn pictures and indoor ones, with a beautiful baby who slept soundly and let me pose her and didn’t mind being in our baskets, etc.- bliss! Thanks, F. family, for choosing me for your newborn photographs. She’s absolutely perfect, and I loved spending time with her and capturing that!
