Twin newborn babies Catherine & Elizabeth were a joy to photograph. They were 5 weeks old at the time of these pictures. They were a bit early and Catherine had to spend a few weeks in the NICU before coming home. It isn’t easy having twin newborn babies in two different spots (especially not in the middle of a snowy winter!). Elizabeth couldn’t go to the hospital because the chance of exposure to germs there is too great, and Catherine wasn’t quite ready to be home yet. So their reunion here was really special.
Twin newborn babies are often happiest when they’re snuggled together. I wasn’t sure if that would be the case with them, since they had been separated for several weeks. It was still absolutely true, though- if one was whimpering a bit, that stopped the minute she was next to her sister. So sweet!
If you’re expecting twins or just one baby and would like more information about newborn photo sessions in your home, contact me here. I’d love to help you get pictures of your baby, too!
All newborn photo sessions take place in your home. I have lots of hats, wraps and baskets, and bring a selection of them with me. We talk ahead of time about the colors and poses that you prefer, and I design your session around your preferences. Sessions last about 3 hours. Your family is welcome to be part of the pictures. Sibling pictures and pictures with mom & dad are so important, and I’m always happy when families choose to do those.
Parents of multiples often ask if I charge more for twins or triplets. I don’t- I treat them just the same as a session for a single baby. I take pictures of the babies together, but I also make sure to get individual pictures of each baby. It may take just a bit longer to photograph twin newborn babies, but the results are always worth the extra time!
