Madeline’s parents’ neighborhood is very important to them. It’s the Milwood neighborhood of Kalamazoo, a very family-friendly area with houses dating from the 1920s and 30s. It’s got lots of mature trees and well cared-for yards. Children their bikes and play games on the sidewalks. Madeline’s mom grew up there, and now lives just down the block from her childhood home- in her grandparents’ former home! Milham Park anchors the south end of the neighborhood and they had their engagement photos taken there, so that’s where they chose to have their maternity photos done, too. We had an unexpectedly mild spring day and a beautiful sunny evening, perfect for walking around the park. A few of those pictures soon, but first, meet Madeline-
Here are her mom and dad at Milham Park for their maternity session-
They told me that my email with the link to their maternity gallery came while they were in the hospital in labor and that they had so much fun seeing the pictures there first. Love that!
More of Madeline, taken in her great-grandparents’ home-
I love picturing Madeline playing in the same spots her mom did when she was growing up. I can picture the Milwood neighborhood being an idyllic spot to make childhood memories. Enjoy it, sweet Madeline!
