Until today, only the ultrasound tech and the cake baker knew the gender of their baby. The gender reveal party was going to let them know- and does this family know how to throw a party! About a hundred family and friends gathered at the lovely Carriage House Inn in South Bend, Indiana to help them celebrate the news. Guests were either on ‘team pink’ or ‘team blue’ and came dressed to show their prediction:
Gender reveal party details
They nibbled on appetizers that carried out the pink and blue theme in clever ways, including blueberries and orchids as garnishes on the cheese platter:
there was even a cotton candy machine churning out blue and pink cotton candy-
The baker had put a layer of either pink or blue frosting underneath the top layer of white frosting. So, with everyone gathered around, Jeff and Heidi cut into the cake. Jeff gave his prediction-a boy- and he was right! The frosting was blue, and it’s Oliver that they’re expecting on Christmas Eve:
Their reactions were fun to see, but the crowd’s faces at the news were just as much fun:
And the excitement while they were congratulating the couple was even better:
Congratulations, Jeff and Heidi- I can’t wait to see you again for maternity pictures and to meet Oliver at his newborn session. Thanks for inviting me to your gender reveal party- it was party perfection!
While I don’t usually photograph events, this was right up my maternity/newborn alley, so I couldn’t say no- and I’m so glad I was able to be there. If you’re planning something special like this and would like to make it a part of your maternity and newborn session package, contact me to talk it over. I love personalizing sessions!
