When it comes to styling a one year old photo session, Blythe’s mom is a pro. She has great taste, does her research (Pinterest, anyone?), and really prepares ahead of time. I knew she would, since we had already done Blythe’s newborn pictures and six month pictures together, so I couldn’t wait to see what she put together this time. Since we were photographing a a very green park, her choices for the family outfits worked especially well- a mix of turquoise and pink:
I love, love these images of her with her mom and dad- and just switching her dress to the yellow instead lets her really stand out while still keeping to the bright pastel theme:
(she loved the games of flying and ‘chase the baby’….keeping one year olds moving is part of the key to happiness!)
then on to some pictures of her alone. As much as I love her smiles, I think this one is my favorite from the session:
another darling outfit, this one a tutu and top in a gray and lavender combination that I love:
styling a one year old photo session- birthday props
Since this was her first birthday session, her mom wanted to do a cake smash as part of the session. Her cake that she had ready had an unfortunate accident the morning of the session, so she called the bakery and ran out at 6:30 am to replace it. Now that’s dedication! Blythe wasn’t thrilled with the cake, but did love the balloons : ). Her personalized birthday Tshirt and the banner are from Etsy
a few more first birthday props, like the personalized bloomers:
She also brought along one of the pictures from Blythe’s newborn session, and it’s a great way to see how she’s grown and changed this year:
It’s so much fun to have a great collaborator- you did a great job styling a one year old photo session, D.!
