I first saw Gretchen Rubin’s video “The days are long, but the years are short” several years ago, and it’s stayed with me ever since. So, so true. I was reminded of it this past week when we attended our daughter’s graduation from Boston University- those years since she was a little girl were indeed short. But what a privilege and a pleasure to see her grown up, ready to take on the world and find her place in it. We’re so proud of her- I just had to share her here.
The babies you see on this blog- they’ll all be there before you know it. Maybe not quite in the blink of an eye, but it can seem that way. Enjoy the little things- the way you see the world in a fresh way through their eyes, the giggles, the sticky hugs and kisses, the enthusiasm, the zest for exploring and learning. Enjoy the ride- the days may get long, but they’re seldom boring!
And now, the BU class of 2011 (with Katie Couric giving the commencement address)-
Sarah-
and the reward for all those years of hard work (if you look very closely, you might be able to read the ‘summa cum laude’ – way to go, Sarah!).
