When the setting for the pictures is an idyllic farm property in Edwardsburg, MI with a vintage farmhouse and a barn, it’s a photographer’s heaven. Add in beautiful fall colors, good weather and a gorgeous couple and it takes it over the top. And seriously, if Heidi ever wants to come work for me as a stylist, she’s hired in a heartbeat. She has the best taste and always thinks of the perfect outfits for her sessions. For this farm maternity session, she first chose a fitted sweater dress and boots, sweater and jeans for Jeff, and buffalo plaid accent pieces. Then they introduced me to their vintage truck- could it be any more perfect?!

The dog even cooperated for one or two- good thing I have a quick trigger finger, though : ).

After an outfit change to a beautiful dress with lace insets for Heidi and a tweed jacket for Jeff, we set out on the four wheeler across their farm property to find some fall color. It was close to peak color, and we found some beautiful pockets of vivid leaves:

Their farrier gave them a special gift of a pair of tiny boots- love them!

To complete the farm maternity session, we did a few with the horses and the donkey. They love Heidi and wanted to follow her around and nuzzle her. This baby is going to have built in entertainment wherever he turns on the farm:
