Turning one is a big milestone! So many changes have happened in the last year…from tiny newborn to sitting up, crawling, standing and taking those first steps. Adela was standing with help and walking around things, but not independently. That’s the perfect stage for a one year old session, in my opinion. Once they’re walking, they are interested in so many other things than staying in one spot, and they tend to get fast in a hurry! This is also a time when strangers can cause a little nervousness. If that happens, there are a few almost sure-fire cures for it. I always apologize to parents for my (extremely) flat singing voice, but babies don’t seem to care. A familiar song usually brings a smile. In Adela’s case, it gave us adorable smiles and a lot of clapping along to the music- so cute!

Adela’s mom opted for a cake smash as part of her session. It’s always fun to see the cake-handling method of each one year old. Adela was a careful, dainty cake handler- fits her to a ‘T’.Her mom and dad were in some of the pictures with her, and I think that’s so important. She’s going to love looking back at these in years to come.
