“I always did like a man in uniform” Mae West
This uniform is at the heart of this family- J.’s daddy proudly serves his country, and his mom keeps things running smoothly at home during his absences. We had to have this session a bit later than most newborn sessions, because his dad was injured and needed surgery far from home before he could make it back to Kalamazoo. So when they asked if we could incorporate the uniform into the session, I jumped at the chance. I big puffy heart love the resulting picture- it really reminds me of the innocence that’s protected by the sacrifices of those in uniform. And who could resist those adorable cheeks and big blue eyes?!
We also got pictures of the whole family, but big sister wasn’t sure she wanted to be a part of those. When dealing with a toddler and new baby, it helps to be flexible, and these parents were! While she didn’t want to be held upright, she loved being dangled upside down, so that’s the way we ‘posed’ her. I love that sense of humor!
Thanks so much for your service to our country, N. family- it was a pleasure and a privilege to photograph you!
