Time for the annual fall outdoor pictures! I first met this family when Cambrie was a baby. We photographed her in the field behind their home, and it’s been a favorite spot for me ever since. Seeing them every fall for fall outdoor pictures has become a tradition, and it’s even more fun since Bodie joined the family. Last year Bodie was a bit shy, and took a bit to warm up. This year he did a 180 and was ready to go from the first minute. He’s a complete charmer- that smile could melt a heart of stone. And, bless him, he didn’t mind clothing changes! What could be better than a boy in authentic lederhosen? He’s celebrating his German heritage with this outfit. They traveled to Germany and brought this back with them. It’s authentic right down to the handmade leather shoes!
Cambrie’s getting so grown up- in full day school now, moved up because she’s so smart. She was wearing a dress that was perfect for fall outdoor pictures- the rich garnet color was complemented so well by the setting-
We also included the family pets for part of the session. Not as easy as it looks- they have lots of energy, and there are always distractions, but with persistence we were successful-
The highlight of the session of fall outdoor pictures for the kids was throwing leaves. One of the timeless pleasures of fall- jumping in and throwing leaves. Capturing the simple joys of childhood, like the love for a pet and reveling in nature, makes these sessions so much fun. Beautiful fall evenings in Michigan and the chance to catch up with old friends are the icing on the cake. Thanks, B. family for choosing me to photograph your family again. I’m already looking forward to next fall!
