What is a CPP? According the the Professional Photographers of America, which grants the certification:

Those who have earned the Professional Photographic Certification have passed a comprehensive written exam measuring their technical expertise, and have successfully submitted their work to a panel of judges for review and approval. Certification represents a declaration of a particular individual’s professional competence.

Last fall, I wrote that my images had passed, and now I’m happy to report that I passed the written exam as well, so now I’m a Certified Professional Photographer. The last time I earned a set of initials was when I became an RN, so this is a bit of a change,  but I love the path my career has taken.

I think of this not as having arrived, but as a continuation on the path of learning and growing in photography. It’s my goal to keep striving to improve.
