Penelope- her big sister is so proud of her-

I absolutely love this family- so close, loving and fun- I think this collage of their family pictures says it all-

and she did just as beautifully on her own as she did with her sister and her parents-

one more with her sister- she’s energetic, lively and full of personality. They are going to have so much fun together!

This little one has an amazing set of parents waiting, and an amazing place to come home to. There’s lots of rolling property, two dogs, and horses- kid heaven! I had so much fun meeting everyone and photographing this beautiful mama-to-be.

After two older brothers and two boy cousins, there’s finally a girl to join the bunch- and she delicate and tiny and gorgeous.

Lucky girl- these two boys are going to take good care of her

Nolan is a cutie with a capital ‘C’, and it’s easy to see where he got his good looks from! I remember his newborn session vividly, because he gave me such a run for my money. Seeing him now, it’s hard to believe that. He adores his mom, and it was such fun to watch him with her. Can’t wait to meet your new brother, Nolan-

One of my favorite things during a session is to hear the ‘awwws’ behind me as I’m taking pictures and mom and dad have a chance to just relax, sit back and take in the beauty of their baby. Miss Brielle gave her parents plenty of time to do that- she was warm, cozy and dozed through her whole session. She was a perfect little model, and she’s perfect in every other way, too.

(I’ve been saving this for a vacation post- if you’re reading this, I did things right and figured out how to have posts publish themselves while I’m gone. Straining the limits of my techiness, I tell you)

I love blog reading- I have a long list in my Google reader so that I automatically get updates of my favorites, and one of my rewards during breaks is catching up on a few. This post was recommended by another blogger, and I loved it- it really struck a chord with me. I know I can be guilty of putting a rosy glow over those first years of raising kids- they were wonderful, but they certainly had plenty of their moments. If you’re right in the middle of the busy, chaotic, up and down of parenting young kids, it may be just what you need to hear right now- and I know it will make you smile and nod in agreement in at least a few spots. Enjoy!

I did a farewell post to Bliss, our former foster puppy, a few weeks ago and mentioned that there would be a new puppy soon. I’m happy to introduce Abbott, our latest puppy from Paws with a Cause. He’s in their foster puppy program, the early stages of training as a service dog for wheelchair assistance dog, seizure response dog, hearing dog or service dog for a child with autism. Abbott’s a golden retriever and an absolute sweetheart. He’s learning quickly (slept through the night and was housebroken almost from the start, which was a nice bonus). We’re loving watching a playful puppy romping around again, and it’s fun seeing him catch on to concepts like ‘sit’ and ‘heel’. We’re taking him out all over town and he’s a hit wherever he goes (we jokingly say we should loan him out as a chick magnet : ). Here’s the latest puppy cuteness:

This baby’s birth day is just days away, and it was such a pleasure to capture his mama’s beauty during her pregnancy. C., you have that glow for sure!

rowan & jack

I was still seeing Rowan as a dark-haired newborn in my mind, so I did a double take when I saw her beautiful blonde curls. She’s a big sister to Jack now, and is so careful and sweet with him. She wanted nothing to do with a newborn session when she was a baby, but we were all relieved that her brother is a different personality already and dozed most of the time. Amazing to see the differences that are there, right from the start.
