They picked wild strawberries, danced in tutus, and had what they told me was ‘the best tea party ever!’ Watching them explore and enjoy their morning was just as much fun for me! I’m showing some of the collages I put together from the session, just for a change of pace.
I traveled to Lansing to meet this beautiful and fit mom-to-be. She’s expecting her first baby in a month or so. Looking forward to meeting this little one!
Thank goodness for this little guy’s aunt! She had the magic touch with him- when all else failed, she was able to get him to relax-

Happy Father’s Day to all you amazing dads out there- especially those of you celebrating your very first Father’s Day!
I’ve got some catching up to do! These are no longer sneak peeks, because I’ve been a blog slacker. In the past nine days, though, I’ve been to Massachusetts and back (by car) and photographed a wedding, a birth, and three newborns- so I’ve got pictures to share for some time to come. This sweet little girl is the new daughter of the owner of the wonderful Curves Kalamazoo- if you’re looking for a place full of friendly people to exercise with, this is it! Meet Miss T. and her proud big brother-
A photographer friend once said that if she could make a business of photographing only 6-9 month olds and 4 year old girls, she’d do it. While I’d miss all the other great ages, when I met these two I could see what she meant. Both such sweethearts and at such perfect ages for a session!
Some of my favorite newborn images are those of dads holding their new babies- the combination of strength and tenderness, the contrast of that fragile new baby with a dad’s tough hands, and most of all the sense of scale it gives. J. does look small on his own, but then look at his tininess when he’s in dad’s hands!

I can only imagine their bond when they’re older- I loved watching H. with her new sister. And it was so sweet to see baby A. calm right down when her sister held her. Add her other sister- two, busy, sweet and imaginative- into the mix to play with, and she’s one lucky girl!
