Daddy’s hands

He handled her with the experience of a third time dad,  and his touch calmed her down when nothing else could. You could see she already knew she was safe in her daddy’s hands. Just one for now-

Cherry

This one’s mine, and we are loving getting to know her. She is so sweet and mellow and seems to love to learn. Photographing a puppy this age is a bit like photographing a toddler- they don’t take direction, they have a very limited attention span, and they’re quick! It took a few tries to get anything usable, and before we did, we got lots of movement and blur:

The pearls just weren’t her thing, I guess. But with time and patience, we succeeded. Meet the adorable Cherry-

I love taking progression pictures as they grow, so I’m going to use this teddy bear with her from time to time-

Spirited

I was going to describe these girls as ’spunky’, and then thought it was kind of an old fashioned word. When I looked in a thesaurus, it describe spunky as bouncy, energetic, enthusiastic, full of life, full of spirit,  zesty and zippy- yep, that’s what I was trying to say! Describes them to a ‘T’.  Just realized they have hats on in every one of these- we have lots without hats, too, but they loved wearing hats, and looked great in every one-

Perfect belly

I’ve been seeing such beautiful moms to be lately, and M. is no exception- doesn’t she have the perfect bump?

Sparky

Oh my goodness, this is one of the fluffiest, softest puppies I’ve ever felt- just look at that long coat! You could lose your hands in all his fuzz. He reminds me of dandelion fluff-

His eyelashes are just amazing- long and almost pure white-

One of these things

…is not like the others. Cashmere was the one yellow lab puppy in her litter of 8- had to laugh when I saw this, because she looks like she feels left out!

Chocolate

lab, that is- and couldn’t you just eat him up?  That soft, wrinkled little belly, that shy little look, those big paws- and yes, he had puppy breath, too….

More to come soon from a photoshoot with lots of puppies- couldn’t resist just a few of this guy for now

Bittersweet

Miss L. is becoming a big sister soon, and she is so excited about it. She’s one of the sweetest, funniest and smartest two year olds I’ve ever met, and it was so much fun to hear her talk about the baby. I think these two pictures of her say so much about the last few days of being an only child- the excitement of welcoming another baby and the uncertainty about the changes that are coming-
