Braden’s family are troopers- they live out near the beach in St. Joseph, and they were willing to meet me there at 6:45 a.m. so that we’d have a) pretty light and b)an uncrowded beach. I think we maybe saw one other person, so crowding was not at all an issue. But the light was gorgeous- well worth getting up for! Toddlers are often at their best first thing in the morning, and Braden generally is, so we were hoping to take advantage of that, too. He started out a bit unsure of the whole thing (what, you want me by myself on cold sand?!), but I used a few things that are usually good for warming up toddlers, and he was full of smiles.
