A happy Father’s day to all dads! For many of us, our fathers are our first heroes. I met a hero this week, but he would never describe himself that way. His greatest pride is his new son. He’s a week old, but his dad hasn’t been able to hold him often yet  because he’s had to stay in the neonatal ICU. The day after this session, dad was leaving for a tour of duty in Afghanistan. It’s hard to fathom how difficult it would be to leave under those circumstances, but when he’s thanked for his service, he just humbly says, ‘It’s nothing, really.’  But we know we’re the land of the free because of the brave like you, so thank you for your sacrifice, your courage and your service to your country. Your son is lucky to have a dad like you- a true hero.
